Do you know how many times I've heard the word fart in the last 72 hours? As well as the sound to go along with it? And then there was my dad who was gently encouraging Mia to take the thing to church. What really cracks me up though is that Mia doesn't use it for jokes on other people. No, it's for her. To sit on. Over and over again. Oh, and by the way, it's self-inflating. This means she can entertain herself for hours. All she has to do is sit on the cushion, perform a slight bum lift, and repeat the process for as long as she wants. Yesterday this went on the entire time she was doing her homework. She now sees no reason why she shouldn't enjoy a fart sound every time she sits down. In fact, she was quite upset when she came home from school today to find I had moved the whoopee cushion off of her chair. "Don't you know that this belongs permanently on my chair?!" she scolded. And then she promptly sat on it for punctuation.
She has a nick name for it. I believe it's Fartsy.
Oh, and within the first 24 hours, it popped after a particularly enthusiastic pounce. Thank goodness for duct tape, eh Fartsy?

Wow, a self-inflating whoopee cushion. That just makes it way too easy. ...when I was a kid I actually had to expel air from my very own lungs to inflate it and make it work. These kids just have no idea how good they have it! ;)
Happy birthday Mia! Can't believe you are 7.
That's funny. You're stories always make me smile.
Whoopee cushions are a big hit with my almost 7 year old, too. He gets them at the dentist office from the treasure chest. (We've been there 4 times in the last month.) The dentist also taught him how to make one that doesn't pop. Nice. I'm sure Jacob can teach Mia how to make one at the next reunion.
ha ha! she sounds like a character!
Wow, you are brave for taking 3 little ones out for a fancy dinner. I bet they had a blast though (literally!). Love the whoopee cushion antics.
Happy Birthday Mia! William would so love to have been there celebrating with your whoopee cushion. I think everyone has fond memories of their whoopee cushion. I know I loved mine.
say hi to Fartsey and Happy b-day to Mia for me
I am 30 and still think farts are funny so maybe me and Mia have more in common than I originally thought :) How can one not laugh at a fart? I don't get. They are hilarious.
Happy Birthday to little Mia. Oh to be 7 again!
As always, I have a huge smile on my face from reading your blog. I love that Mia has "Fartsey" to keep her entertained. What a cool mom you are!
I bought a "Fart Machine" with a remote control for my brother when he turned 18. Big mistake. He's now 30 and he still uses it all the time in stores and at work. We are a very refined family.
